The solidarity clinic is a program rooted in Solidarity Economy, an alternative economic model rooted in cooperation, mutual aid, and collective wellbeing. It emphases values like equity, inclusivity, and community engagement.
Community Initiatives is a continuous learning program welcoming initiatives from the communities we serve and provides the initiator with research, design and facilitator honorariums, and support such as; program coordination, communications, translation as well as guidance from CCBI and external professionals from our Network. The end product is tested as a pilot through CCBI but belongs to the creator who maintains creative and ownership rights to the program, adding to their professional development skills and portfolio.

3 Unique Modules, Each 12 Hours Long
WealthBeyond is an ongoing multi-funder program focusing on the economic disparities in 2SLGBTQ+ communities that lead to back taxes, fees and penalties, loss of credits and deductions, government support programs such the Canada Child Tax benefit and Disability credits as well as ineligibility for community volunteer income tax programs. This program allows for low income self employed participants or patricipants with back taxes to access professional tax preparation services at affordable rates.
NOTE: This Community Accessibility Program prioritizes low income underserved 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and businesses.
By spring 2026, we aim to implement Volunteer-based Tax Preparation services via the Solidarity Clinic in Montreal for our diverse communities in collaboration with other community advocacy groups. We'll be able to refer eligible taxpayers to this program, thereby avoiding tax preparation fees altogether!

CCBI is facilitating this community-focused initiative designed to provide low-income self-employed individuals with the tools and resources needed to navigate the world of self-employment taxation. This program is here to open doors to fiscal empowerment, offering education and ongoing support.
